On September 22, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), who is operating under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) indiscriminately killed a group of civilians.
Abdi Osman, a freelance reporter who lives in Afmadow district, who was contacted AOL by phone late Sunday evening said “the massacre took place in a village of Janay Abdalle most commonly known as (Birta Dheer), which is located 50 kms Southwest of Kismayo.”
This horrific attack took the lives of 9 innocent inhabitant nomads and seriously wounded 4 others.
“This was well orchestrated mass killings by the KDF with the help of the few well known Somali stooges” said one of the local residents who requested not to be mentioned his name.
Another local resident, who uses his nickname as (Gobe) said “Kenya’s current mass murders is a clear flagrant violation of human rights, and the people of Jubbalanders should not divided by their ethnicity and murder under the cover of War on Terror.”
This gross negligence comes again after weeks ago, KDF spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir accused ethnic Marehans in the Jubbaland as Al-shabab collaborators by saying “As Amisom troops surround Kismayu, Marehan clans vowed to resist and fight alongside Al-shabab but the rest of the clans have welcomed the troops to free the area of the militia!”
Nonetheless, president Hasan Sh. Mohamud, Major General Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Dini, Commander of the Somali National Army, General Yusuf Hussein Osman (Dhuumaal), Southern Somali Tachtical Operations Army Commander and Mr. Wafula Wamunyinyi, deputy head of the AMISOM should now open an immediate independent inquiry of this tragic incident and the perpetrators of the massacre must brought to justice.
