Celebrating the Grand Opening of the Cedar Riverside Opportunity Center

Despite the cold and snow condition, community leaders and hundreds of Ward 6 residents joined me yesterday to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Cedar Riverside Opportunity Center.

Greetings,

Now that the Opportunity Center is open, people in the neighborhood can access a wide array of resources that will help put them on a path to good jobs and high quality education. The center will be an invaluable resource in helping our community members find the tools they need to pursue their dreams. So much hard work, the vision of our elders, and the dreams of our youth have led us to create one of the most beautiful places in our neighborhood.

We have spent almost three years working on this vision and thanks to the collaboration and commitment from our anchor partners, the Opportunity Center is now a reality. A special thank you to my friend and colleague Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin for his continued support and partnership.

With deep gratitude,

Council Member Abdi Warsame
