In response to
Mr. Donald Kipkorir's Article
Mr. Kpkorir, I have seen and
read your article on Sunday
Nation on Oct. 3rd, 2008. I
didn't surprised how naive you
are about to praise the
Christianity and Judaism and
trying to make the Muslim
Religion down.
Your article was not concern
about Annexation of Somali
Country and not also dividing
the Somali people under Kenya
and Ethiopia.The whole concept
and the hidden Agenda of your
article was about Religion.
Somalia was, is and will be a
Muslim Country. Keep in mind,
this transition that the Somali
people are going through this
21st Century Era will make more
speedy to their Society to
improve their Education,
Civilization and empower them to
acquire reducing for 100 years
achieving development into maybe
to reach 50 years or less than
that.
As you may knew or heard, Somali
people were over 95 % Nomads in
1960. From 1960 to 1990, the
percentage has decreased to 60
%. From 1991 to upto now ( 2008)
only 35% are Nomads. Why?
because of the Civil War. I am
sorry that lot of people are
suffered while the fighting
between the War Lords has caused
Anerchie and Chaose and many
people lost their lives, but
their awareness to the World of
today has increased 300 %.
Thanks to the Civil War.
Contrarily, almost 75 % of the
Somali people are now either
well Educated scattering in all
over the World including those
in the Country, Interpreneurs in
many cities all over the World
including Nairobi, Kenya.
In Nairobi alone, the visible
business people intire Kenya are
Somalis. See for example the
Eastleigh Markets, which is now
the Mirror of the Tourist
attraction of your country. In
Kampala, Dar Es-Salam, Zambia,
South Africa, Chana and don't
forget the Markets of some
European countries, Canada and
USA.
In Conclusion, your articles'
point of view was not about
Annexation or dividing the
Somalis into Kenya and Ethiopia,
but create fear to the Christian
and Judai Communties in and
around East Africa that Somalis
are Muslim and they are threat
to them. You are not the first
to mention that and you will not
be the last.
