In addition, to carry out their brute plans, and get the desired effect of continues mayhem in Somalia from this gathering, only carefully selected clan leaders and elders who are loyal to their trusted (warlords) who are currently members of the TFG will be invited because the Ethiopians know that these loyalists will assist them to keep Somalia in its current predicament. 

Creating wedges among Somali tribes 

In order to maintain its grip on Somalia, the Addis-Ababa regime is making a squalid attempt to create wedges among Somalis by dividing the country into small tribal fiefdoms controlled by warlords and administered by Ethiopia. To implement their illegal and ill-conceived goals, they are also planning to use all the military might at their disposal because they want to intimidate, manipulate, and dominate our country. By doing so, they believe that they can force Somalis into submission.  

For instance, in the latest conflict in Mogadishu, the indiscriminate shelling of residential areas where there were no insurgent activities has created trepidations and has been immensely harmful to the innocent civilians who did not understand why they have been targeted and there fore, has made some tribal leaders to capitulate. The aim of these criminal and barbaric tactics carefully crafted by Milless Zanawe, Sayun Masfin (his foreign minister) and General Gabre (his appointed man for Somalia) is to make Somalis feel that they are completely without pride and dignity, and thus should surrender to them. 

The wicked intention of the Ethiopian regime is to obliterate Somalia from any hope of nationhood. To achieve its ultimate goal of dismantling Somalia as a sovereign country, it has used factoid assertions that there are Alqaeda elements in Somalia, illegally invaded and conquered our country, and reinstalled hated warlords back to their areas of control.   

The failure of the international community 

The attitude and the behavior of the international community including the UN, USA, EU, AU and the Arab League towards the latest episode of Somali conflict has been cruel and shockingly unacceptable to the point where it can only be construed from their silence and inactions that they believe that the lives of Somalis are less important than those of the other people around the world. This reminds me what one Muslim scholar by the name of imam shawqi once said “Many might die without your being aware of them, the calamity so slight, as if they never existed.” When the Ethiopian tanks and helicopters were bounding in heavily populated neighborhoods in Mogadishu, the international community was not only coy about the war crimes committed, they were completely oblivious like nothing has happened. 

Ironically, when ever there is a need for peace conference to solve and find a way out of the Somali crises, and the international community’s moral leadership is needed, it is abominable to mention that the Ethiopian regime is always given the free hand to dominate and decide both the agenda and the outcome of the conferences accept the one held in Arta, Djibouti which is also sabotaged and destroyed its outcome by the same enemy (Ethiopia). This irresponsible and inconsiderate decision by the international community has given the Ethiopians the opportunity to create an insurmountable situation in which more Somalis are disillusioned and peace became more illusive than ever. 

Conclusion 

It is time for the international community to live up to its obligations and stop this genocide that has been constantly taking place in Somalia for the last 16 years. It is time for the international community to apprehend the criminal warlords who committed the worst crimes against humanity in Somalia. It is also time to put an end the unlawful Ethiopian military and political interventions of Somalia.  Somalis need a genuine reconciliation conference where the opposing and antagonist groups can negotiate freely and without fear or intimidation from the Ethiopian military and secret services who have been openly and covertly instigating and fomenting conflicts in Somalia.
