A dictatorship is a form of government in
which absolute power is concentrated in a dictator or a small clique. We
are in a habit of not directly addressing the issue of tyrants in our
society, and if we really support the rebirth of our bleeding land, our
burned land, our waste land, we should take a radical stand for it, and
there is no better or clearer opportunity than now. A common response to
a tyrant is to fight back consciously with aggression, even indirect
passive aggression is better than none.
When you are
asked to lead our bleeding land, wounded land, our dried land, our
burned land, our wasteland, our beloved land, do not get drunk on a
power delivered on a silver plate and yet to be earned, you are only as
strong as the support you get from your countrymen. When you are vaguely
empowered to lead, there is nothing like getting started on the right
foot, and as a leader you would expect a little respect, but being
supposedly in charge is not enough, you have get to respect and trust
others first before you get any for yourself. We have here in Somalia an
all too obvious and objectionable prejudice against each other, and this
you will agree, is born of fear.
In the few
Months since the new government was rightly or wrongly proclaimed, and
Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf at the helm, I was continually startled & surprised
and one should have been prepared for any eventuality. It’s almost half
a year since the day Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf was declared the winner and
subsequently given the oath of office as President of the United Somalia
in which he swore to obey, adhere & uphold the law of the land as
stipulated in the interim Constitution and we shall never allow him or
any of his colleagues for that matter to go array or betray us ever
again. There is no escape, we must go out and meet him half way, it all
depends on us whether he will turn into loathsome ugly monster demanding
us to sacrifice for no apparent good reason or benefit for our divide &
dismembered Country, or whether he shall be the saviour of our shattered
lives and bleeding Nation.
We must some how
make an honest effort to understand what is happening in Somalia, and
shall never again let a tyrant, whom ever that might be raise his ugly
head as long as we shall live, we nevertheless shall never tolerate a
patriot leader of ours to needlessly languish in foreign Capitals and
become advocate & puppet for other nations.
The Ethiopian
Military is already a permanent fixture in many parts of Somalia, but
the Ethiopian Military intervention of Somalia as constantly requested
by the President of Somalia is a different ball game and will
undoubtedly give Ethiopia the legal right it needed to become a major
player in both the internal & external affairs of Somalia, and thus
marks the elimination of the internationally recognized Eastern border
of Ethiopia as the sovereignty and the
territorial integrity of Somalia will catastrophically forever
compromised. Landlocked Ethiopia gains the right of free navigation in
the Red Sea & Indian Ocean and the unfettered use of all Somali
harbours. When & if Ethiopia, which has truly welcomed our refugees to
it’s Country, including Addis Ababa is invited, not just by the
President, but by an overwhelming majority of the three branches of the
government with the consent of the Somali people, then & only then
should Ethiopia consider sending peacekeepers and not in any
circumstances send peacemakers.
